Welcome to Busmeetsministry!

We are so glad you are here..

My name is Kayla, a little bit about me is I’m 25 and I moved to Nashville Tennessee 5 years ago to just try something different after spending 10 years in Dallas, Texas. I did personal training for the first few years, but the Lord started to put a deep calling on my heart for the great commission and I started to think about what it would look like for me to live out the great commission in my everyday life. That’s when the idea for Busmeetsministry came into existence. I love traveling, camping, tiny homes, trying new things, and everything that comes with all of that, but I also love Jesus and the gospel and have felt a calling on my life to use every moment I can to glorify God and love his people the way that He does. So in July of 2022 I bought a short school bus and over a year me and my dad turned it into a tiny home and along with that I recently completed an internship in connections ministry at a church just north of Nashville, and through that started my nonprofit Busmeetsministry. My goal is to get the word of God into the hands of his children all over the world while being his hands and feet to the community wherever I am. So far we have been able to hand out dozens of bibles, as well as clothes, food, gift cards, toiletries, blankets, and more to the homeless community in downtown Nashville and I’m hoping to be able to continue to go around Tennessee and the surrounding states and do the same thing in every community we are welcomed into.  I also have a huge heart for identity and helping others who struggle with their identity fully know and understand that they are fully complete in Jesus and their identity comes from him and him alone. Nothing will ever make you too lost to come to him, nothing will ever keep him from forgiving you, you are perfect and complete in the Lord who created you and he wants nothing more than to know you and have you know him.

I wanted to talk a little about John 14:6 today, which says, and this is Jesus speaking here he says “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me”. And we are just gonna talk a little bit about what Jesus means in this verse and how we can apply it to our lives when we are struggling with our faith and I hope it also helps you understand why this ministry means so much to me.

So here Jesus is talking to his disciples and it’s one of his last conversations with them before he is crucified on the cross, he’s preparing them for his departure and also reassuring him that he is not abandoning them. By saying I am the way, the truth, and the life, Jesus is explaining to them how he will continue to be a part of their lives after He is gone.

Let’s take the first words here, the way. Jesus is saying he is the way and by that he means the way to life, the only way for salvation is following Jesus. It is a powerful declaration of His role in Salvation. Meaning that the way to life isn’t following a set of rules, it’s about having a relationship with Jesus He is the only way, the only bridge between humanity and the Father.

“Think about it like this: Imagine you’re trying to get to a distant place, but there’s no road, no map, and no GPS to guide you. But someone comes along and says, ‘I know the way. Follow me.’ That’s what Jesus is saying. He isn’t offering a roadmap — He is the road.”

Now the next part of the verse, the truth. We live in a world full of distorted facts and conflicting information. It’s so easy to question what is real anymore. But Jesus is absolute truth, he’s not claiming to know what is true, he’s saying in him, we encounter every essence of true reality. Seeking truth isn’t about never ending research, it’s about coming to Jesus.

Finally, Jesus says the most profound part of the verse. I am the life. He is the source of eternal life, the giver of spiritual life, the only eternal meaning and purpose to our life. We come into this world spiritually dead, but with him we have life, not just when he comes back but today.

Then it goes into the end of the verse, “No one comes to the father except through me”. We live in a world full of people telling you to be open minded, but in this verse Jesus is being extremely clear.  He isn’t saying that this is the only way of living, but he is making it known that there is one way to God and eternal life and that’s through him alone. We know there are other ways of life because in Matthew 7:13 Jesus says, “For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction and there are many who will go through it”. There are so many ways of living life, in todays age we have more options than ever before and so many different agendas being pushed. You need to be rich, you need to be successful, you need to travel the whole world, follow your heart and do what feels right, but Jesus never said any of those things. He gives us certainty in him and tells us clearly that there is one path that leads to eternal life. He is the way when we are lost, the truth when we are confused, and the life when we are exhausted by the weight of this world. If you are looking for life, Jesus is offering it freely.

Thanks so much for reading, I hope this speaks to you the same way it speaks to me and gives you more certainty of your faith or the steps you need tot ake to start a relationship with Jesus today.
